The DBA is designed to raise the level of professional capabilities of practicing senior managers and executives. It does this by developing critical reflective practice skills, by enhancing knowledge of leading-edge areas of business, and by providing the opportunity to develop their capabilities in practice-based research by means of a major doctoral research project focused on their role as change leaders. The program is specifically designed for busy professionals who are unlikely to be unable to attend a university on a regular basis while studying for their doctorate. Middlesex University (MU) is ranked 79 overall in the world and top in the UK in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings.This new Executive DBA dual-degree program is just now opening in 2020 (Subject to Validation). It is completed in tandem with a PhD in Business Administration from aSSIST University.
To fulfill the requirements for this Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) degree, participants must successfully complete studies worth 36 credits. Studies include 32 course credits, a thesis (4 credits), and thesis defense in London. The DBA can be completed in 3 years. The program has a modular structure and follows a four-week learning cycle. Courses are delivered mostly in Korean language on Saturdays and Sundays, 8:30 am - 6:30 pm.
This DBA is the professional is designed specifically to support participants in undertaking practice-based research into their workplace activities. The program is divided into three main phases: Year One focuses on developing research skills, Year Two covers general business topics, and Year Three is for a supervised thesis research project. During the first two phases of the course, your study is undertaken through online study resources, online discussions, interaction with course leaders, and is supported by two academic advisors. For the third phase of the program of study, you undertake a major research project that focuses on work you are undertaking in your organization as a senior professional, typically in a change leadership role.
