The Franklin Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) is an applied research doctorate designed to accompany innovative business leaders in the process of business transformation to produce lasting impact on themselves as responsible business professionals, on their organization and on the industry in which they operate. It is aimed at executives who experience the urge for innovation and implementation of responsible and ethical business practices in favor of long-term sustainable business strategies. Candidates explore the opportunities for change by combining the organizational competences and resources with the world’s environmental, societal and economic challenges leveraging on the emerging technologies, scientific discoveries and human development. Franklin University Switzerland (FUS) is accredited in the United States by MSCHE (Middle States Commission for Higher Education) and in Switzerland by AAQ (Agency of Accreditation and Quality Assurance).This new Executive DBA dual-degree program is just now opening in 2021. It is completed in tandem with a PhD in Business Administration from aSSIST University.
To fulfill the requirements for this Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) degree, participants must successfully complete studies worth 36 credits. Studies include 32 course credits, a thesis (4 credits), and thesis defense in Switzerland. The DBA can be completed in as little time as 2 years. The program has a modular structure and follows a four-week learning cycle. Courses are delivered mostly in Korean language on Saturdays and Sundays, 8:30 am - 6:30 pm.
This DBA is designed specifically to support participants in undertaking practice-based research in their workplace activities. The program is divided into three main phases: Year one focuses on developing research skills, year two covers general business topics, and the final step is submitting a thesis research project and passing an oral defense. During the first two phases of the program, your study is undertaken either online on in-person through study resources, discussions, interaction with course leaders, and you are supported by two academic advisors. For the third phase of the program of study, you undertake a major research project that focuses on work you are undertaking in your organization as a senior professional, typically in a change leadership role.
