The doctoral program at Birkbeck, University of London has been collaborating with aSSIST University since 2023, allowing students to earn a dual doctoral degree from Birkbeck, University of London and from aSSIST University upon successful completion of the degree requirements.
To meet the requirements of the doctoral degree in Management at Birkbeck, University of London, you need to complete 37 credits. This includes 32 credits for major courses in Business Administration, research methodology, and overseas courses, 1 credit for general education, and 4 credits for dissertation guidance. This program has modular structure and follows a four-week learning cycle. The courses are mainly conducted in Korean, on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am to 5:30pm.
* Note: One module consists of a total of 15 hours (1 credit per module).As part of the enrollment requirement, students are expected to complete MBS (Management Book Society) for general education credit that is equivalent to 1 unit.
The doctoral degree program in Management at Birkbeck, University of London places a strong emphasis on research-led education and encourages students to make high-level academic contributions by conducting research in their areas of interest. The program consists of three main stages: the first stage focuses on development of research methodology, the second stage covers the general business topics, and the final stage involves submitting a dissertation and passing an oral defense. During the first two stages of program, students engage in online learning through study materials, discussions, and interaction with course leaders, with guidance from two academic advisors.
