First launched jointly by American University (AU) and Beijing Normal University (BNU) in 2016, CBF has been held annually with the aim to encourage dialogue and communication among experts from academia and practice in capital areas. Specifically, the focus has been on the key issues and patterns in the business world of each year. The 5th CBF will be hosted by Seoul School of Integrated Science & Technologies (aSSIST) based in Seoul, Korea. The title of this year’s conference is “The New Business Paradigm for Firms, Major Cities, and Nations in the Pandemic Era.” There are four themes for CBF 2021 as follows.

More than 20 speakers have participated in CBF 2021 from countries across Europe, the US, and Asia. South Korea launched a Stay Strong social media campaign supporting the global fight against COVID-19. The Stay Strong Campaign calls for collective action from social media users to join South Korea in a coordinated effort encouraging resilience among members of the global community. aSSIST University and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) are offering a specially online seminar on the topic of Digital Innovation in the era of COVID-19 by esteemed professors from both universities. Seoul Business School at aSSIST University wasranked among the top 30 universities by the World Universities of Real Impact (WURI). The WURI Ranking Evaluation Committee (Chairman Moon, Hwy Chang, Professor Emeritus of Seoul National University Graduate School of International Competitiveness) released it's list of the top 200 universities in the world based on factors such as innovation, ethics, social change, applied research, student exchange, and entrepreneurship on June 11th. Finland has launched a free online crash course in artificial intelligence with the aim of educating its citizens about the new technology. The European nation is made the six week program available for anyone to take (https://www.elementsofai.com) with more than 1 percent of the Nordic nation’s 5.5 million citizens signing up. aSSIST University and Aalto University (Finland) have also added an AI track to their dual-degree EMBA (https://en.assist.ac.kr/programs/aalto).
The Industrial Policy Research Institute's (IPS) at aSSIST University will host the 17th Annual Yoonkyung SM Forum online via Zoom on May 22. This years theme is 'Stakeholder Capitalism' and CEOs are encouraged to attend this networking event. The Yunkyung SM Forum was launched in '03 and is a voluntary gathering of executives that believe in ethical and sustainable management. During the event, corporate representatives make an ethical pledge to strengthen their commitment to action. A total of 1,000 executives have participated in the forum so far. aSSIST University President Kim Tae Hyun was appointed Prof. Kim Moon Soo as Vice President of Academics and Operations. Prof. Kim Moon Soo is currently the Chair of aSSIST University AI Crypto MBA program. He is the founder of many successful startup tech companies and holds degrees from Seoul National University, CKGSB and aSSIST University.
